"DISTRACTION ADDICTION"
A generation of teens end up with brains that work differently ,students have always faced distractions due to computers, internet ,and mobile devices. I am not for the use of cellphones in school because of the simple fact that students are consistently texting , on instagram or Facebook . As it is teachers have a hard time grasping everyone's attention in the classroom because of their short attention span . Cell Phones are constantly a ploy of distraction, also it seems like a trend that is not going to go away.What can we do? well, there are many things we can do when a phone is found on a student. The phone will be confiscated and a phone call home will be required . The child doesn't need a cell phone, the school has one in almost every room.Cell phones are a technological addiction for teens and under no circumstances should they be allowed in class.
However using a cellphone in school can be useful to students due to classwork or homework or even studying for exams . In many cases, a kid should have a phone.They would be able to contact there parents in case of an emergency . Schools often don't have enough computers to go around ,so why shouldn't kids with cellphones be able to use theirs? it would let others use the technology available, so that there is enough to go around.Cell phones are technology of this century , with new responsibilities. Students should learn how to harness this new method of learning.
Imagine the first time you get something new or more particulary a cell phone. This is something new to you and you want to explore it to the fullest extent to some people this exploration can be a leading part into addiction. Addiction can be a good thing and a bad thing depending on how it's utilized. Addiction for one can be seen as a passion for one person or something. However it can also be viewed as a bad habbit and something that distracts the person from simple assignments that cause for a bad work ethic.In simple terms it is somthing hard to stop because it is appealing to you in so many facets.
Cell phones can be used as study guides for students that dont have textbooks.This can used as a tool for easy access for information or used to type assignments even quicker then your usual computer.
cellphones can also be used for emergancies for students that have personal issues and are in need to get in conact with their parent or gaurdian.
Distraction keeps students from focusing on whats really important in class.Also it brings out negative aspects of a person's attention span.This is a problem that needs to be adressed by limiting it in schools by only allowing it in study halls and free time.Cellphones are a growing trend that cannot be stopped , so what do we do ? we adjust it and make it work for peoples own benefit.
